Appearances certainly do matter, after all, justice must be done, but it must also be seen to be done. If it isn’t, conspiracy theories will thrive. There are many countries out of the World Cup already. You would have thought it possible to put together a team of match officials from already eliminated countries. Certainly, having the ref and the VAR official from different countries would ease the sort of concerns you have just articulated.

Like everything else now the corruption during this World Cup is done wide out in the open and for all to see, it’s main objective which isn’t winning a sporting event has been achieved and that is look at me I’m doing as I please, when I please and how I please and you can’t do anything about it.

His 14 yellow cards exclude him from the relevant FIFA rule.
Very much hoping that Morocco do one on France - they have a better midfield. But I might be wrong

I see that Qansah has been given a two match suspension for his red card.

I think he broke an existing rule, not a new one.
These days FIFAs rules appear optional, if you know the right people.
