Ah, what we in Donny called a casey ! Yep, I remember heading those things… yer head was spinning for two minutes afterwards. Not to mention the red lines on your forehead from the laces.

Those were the days. Proper football. And I mean it.

World Cups, Olympic Games, World Championships should surely be about elite athletes. Wondering if AO gets a start for Japan. Would add a bit of interest.

Well the Curaçao dream start didnt happen in the end, but the fans looked like they were having a great time.

During this WC, I am supporting England of course, plus the debutants and minnows (including the Canucks, Jocks and Aussies) – and Japan; and the Japanese are up next, playing the Netherlands. Along with Morocco, I think they could go a long way in this tournament.

A pity that the game will be on ITV, whose WC coverage so far has been woeful – turgid commentary, jaw droppingly inane punditry, toe-curling bantz and endless bloody adverts.

Anyway - come on Japan! (or “Ganbare Nihon!” 頑張れ日本!)

Maybe an apt term…

Japan for me as well Kev! Particularly with Kamada playing

I have to say, Germany result entirely expected. I understand how Curaçao get in and Italy don’t but doesn’t make it right

The japanese drummers are definitely the most lively thing in the stadium.

Can you imagine paying a bucket load of money to watch the game and end up with them banging away right behind you!

Absolute belter from Crycensio Summerville, typical of the goals he once used to score for The Mighty Whites. :+1: :+1:
