Xmas music

Do you have a particular seasonal favourite you make a habit of listening to?

My new tradition is this one. Settle back with a mince pie and port and let it soak in.

I think because I bought it in December and wore it out in the runup to Christmas. Also because it’s snowing on the cover :man_facepalming:

Have been a bit sad and instantly added Cerys to my list of things tagged with the “C” word but it will not get a play until actual December arrives. The thing has leaked its way back to pre Halloween and, in one instance I saw, all the way back to August. The only way to stop it is to stop it.

I particularly like the Jarvis Cocker track

Also this one is a perennial favourite

Low and Tracey are big faves here. Former is genuinely spooky on a valve amp as he steps into the room and sings.

This is a very nice and jazzy Xmas album IMO:

I’m old-fashioned and don’t play Christmas music until December but Blackmore’s Night ensures a hobbity Christmas in the Shire.

Waiting to be played.

A Christmas card arrived last week - what!

But it got me thinking about suitable music - my first musical association of Christmas is not a carol but Sibelius’ Finlandia, playing on the radio as we waited to walk across the fields to church.
