After some days, I suppose it’s been 3 days now my Naim system got launched again, yesterday afternoon, suddently I heard a new noise and I thought it was my ultra silent PC. Yesterday evening when all electric except Naim gear was shut off, I still heard the noise. So XPS 2 is humming and now I’m asking myself if it is normal, if it’s a bad sign, if there is any danger of fire. It’s sitting on the carpet, but I plan to put it on a wooden plate after I get my Fluke Multimeter to measure poles etc and to connect the system in a proper way. Thanks a lot. Have a good day. There must be dozens of threads on the effect of a ‘noisy’ electrical mains supply on Naim equipment. A search should find these where solutions are discussed in detail. Hopefully you can tap into this resource and identify possible solutions for your own situation.
Hello. Rega Dac was connected the whole 3 days to the same power socket than the XPS 2 BUT for Youtube videos I connected and disconnected some tuners (2 sockets were free) so in the Naim socket (45 USD standard 6 x power sockets) the XPS 2 is on first place and the tuners (2 maximum) were in the last sockets. Yesterday afternoon I do not remember to have made any changes and suddenly around 16 p.m. the humming appears when I was sitting on my Pc doing homeoffice. Thanks.
