I know this has probably been done to death but for my sanity can someone confirm which way the burndy should go between an XPSDR and nNac. Thank you
Band at nDac end.
Thanks so much![]()
As HH syas, when connecting a Burndy cable, the banded end always goes closest to the source of the Music - i.e the head unit.
Thanks Richard. Is there a reason for this?
Yes, it sounds better one way than the other. Every roll batch of the cable that’s delivered to Naim is first quarantined while some lengths are cut and cables made up for listening tests before best direction is determined.
Thanks Richard. Just one last question. The unit does not run warm at all which has got me second guessing myself. It’s not stone cold but definitely cooler than the Nait 50 and ND5XS2. It’s powering up fine and I can hear a very faint hum, logo is lit up and the system sounds great to my ears. I’m assuming if there was a problem it wouldn’t play?
Sounds fine. I wouldnt expect it to get hot or even particularly warm. The NAIT will run much warmer as it’s an amp and also the ND5 as it has lots of hard working ICs that get quite warm - both use the casework as a heatsink.
Thanks Richard I appreciate the swift replies.
