Most TV ads i think drive us mad, badly made, annoying and irrelevant to us as individuals.
But sometimes very rarely a real gem appears on our tv screens.
This one is my all time favourite. The reasons are the concept, the writing and the casting.
I can’t imagine any actors other than Joan Collins and Leonard Rossiter pulling this series of adds off better than they did.

I think the least worst is the best any advert can get from me. Sure some are really well made and demonstrate real creativity. A few of the world’s best film directors started on adverts. However, they are just a necessary evil to my mind.

I dont recall any ad ever influencing me to buy a product or service.

I did like the Smash ad with the robots though.

Neither my wife nor I can hear the Danse des Mirlitons from Nutcracker without silently singing ‘Everyone’s a Fruit and Nut Case’ in our heads.

It must be about 40 years since that advert last aired and we still can’t break the connection.

I quite like this one. Simply because I watched them filming it in Canary Wharf, one sunny July morning in 2013.

They spent hours filming the car from 6am and only ended up using a couple of seconds in the advert.

This Honda ad from 2005 is one of the greats IMHO

The surfer Guinness ad, directed by Jonathan Glazer, is probably the best TV ad of all time. Love everything about it.

That Renault Clio ad with ‘Nicole’. Nothing special when I watch it now but at the time!

Totally agree re the Honda ad posted above. I also liked this one…

…and the ‘domino’ effect one was excellent too.
