Your ideal festival line-up... using your forum name

@TheKevster this is one of the best music threads for ages, if not ever. Well done.

My festival is one of two halves; music of my younger years, with some bands I wish I’d seen, and music that I listen too much more these days.

Human League
Undertones
New Order
Gang of Four
Ruts
Young Marble Giants
Hilary Hahn
Angela Hewitt
Ludovico Einaudi
Igor Levitt
Brodsky Quartet
Ute Lemper
Tord Gustavsen

Is your Nirvana, the superb original Nirvana, that recorded one of the first and best concept albums The Story of Simon Simopath, which contained the classic We Can Help You and then went on to record Rainbow Chaser which was on their album The Existence of Chance Is Everything and Nothing While the Greatest Achievement Is the Living of Life, and so Say All of Us or is it that American grunge band?

@IIIIIIIIIIIII are you going reply ? :grinning::grinning::grinning:

Haha challenge accepted.

It will be a festival with a variety of different stages, starting with tin can alley and classical and ending with a nice DJ set and a lot of dancing.

I‘ve cheated with one name though, to sneak in one of my all time favorite artists:

Irving Berlin
Igor Stravinsky
The Isley Brothers
The Impressions
Isobel Campbell
Israel Kamakawiwo’ole
Ilhan Ersahin
Ibeyi
Ideal
ina Simone
Inner City
IG Culture
Ilsa Gold

No Ink Floyd?

This would be spectacular! Next season maybe

Bloody hell. None of my absolute favourite bands in this lineup, but hey ho.

Bob Marley & the Wailers
Human League
O’Jays
Youngbloods
Outkast, who seem like they’d be fine bill-toppers.

My inclusion was the US Grunge band. I had forgotten there had been a British band called Nirvana before them, and indeed I am not sure I ever heard the original one. Having googled and had a very quick listen on an iPad, I now need to go and have a proper listen because first impression was interesting. Thank you!

Maybe in my struggle to pick 4 Ns I could have had the two Nirvanas!

Can Steven Wilson be on the sound desk for Genesis?

I’ll ask him, I suspect that he’d do a good job with Yes too, judging by his remastering efforts for them.

As industrious and enthusiastic as he undoubtedly is, he’d probably think I was taking the p**s if I asked him to do three sets back to back.

No!! He tampers with your DNA.
