Well production of the Nait 5si and CD 5Si is drawing to a close …..
What a strange and ominous sounding phrase at the end of the announcement.
I can almost hear the bells at the start of Lennon’s “Mother” tolling in the background.

It’s a shame, particularly the lack of equivalent replacements, and uncertainty regarding where Naim might be going with their entry level products. But a 12/13 year production run for them seems pretty decent?
where did the other thread go?
Went EOL as well…
Been discontinued like the gear. Lol
perhaps the delay in communications from marketing was just too embarrassing in the new era of improved communications
I have this thought that anything that’s “entry” level for naim in future , will fallunder the Lifestyle category. And the separates will fall under NC….high performance ,which is more ex.
Now what’s left in the production line are the lifestyle and the separates , no in between, for now it seemed
Glad a thread was started on this. Extraordinary phrase to use. I am tempted to view it as somewhat tongue in cheek but Naim in recent decades have not exactly been known for their cheering humour and I can’t see it having a French/Focal origin. Somewhat misjudged potentially when you have an assisted dying debate ongoing.
All that aside it’ll be sad, but entirely understandable, to see both go. Whilst I was never a fan of the amp I think the CDP was a little gem and hugely under-rated by many on here but not by those who wrote reviews on it.
I removed it earlier today as it was based upon premature and inaccurate information posted by a dealer who then removed it. As we’ve only been given notice of discontinuation of the 5sis, and not the other items mentioned in the thread, it could have been very misleading for the thread to remain.
The notice was sent out to dealers and distributors so the last sentence here was I guess really meant for them, I would assume in case there’s a bun fight for the last units.
I like the British humor
Rest assured, they do mention they will support the CD5Si.
We were a few that never experienced this with the higher end players due to no future stock assured.
I own a Nait 5si and CD5si (that is broken unfortunately). It was my introduction into Naim and I added a ND5XS2 to replace the CD5si (and a BlueSound Node N130). All very enjoyable products. It is sad to see them go, but understandable. I do have a hard time understanding why nothing is mentioned about replacement. Apparently there are no plans to replace them.
Per, you continue to repeat this despite having had the facts relayed to you time and again.
Here’s my recent post to you on this very subject:
Naim have always done their best to offer ongoing support. They were pretty much the last company to have CDM4 stocks for the CDS, long after they were gone from other high end companies. I remember receiving begging emails and calls from owners of other high end players that needed CDM4s, but of course Naim would not let them go so they had them spare for Naim owners. The CDS2 with VAM1205 was supported until quite recently and it’s only the horrendous situation with poor quality of VAM1202 supplies that has meant having to cease support of the players that used that mech, despite undertaking a program at the factory of trying to build good mechs from the poor supplies
I can feel there will be a very big move coming year , from NAIM, and it will wow the hi fi world …
The Naim cassette deck!
Hahaha
Does it not seem foolish to play this game? We all know what’s coming. Just because they haven’t formally announced the discontinuation of the XS line yet, do we really need to act like it’s not already set in stone?
Most things eventually get discontinued, even from Naim, but any announcement of any discontinuation will only be when when it actually happens, not before.
Not the most empathetic of thread titles.
Good grief, matey. I thought the title on this thread was referring to you! Gave me quite a fright.
