The current service prices for Omega watches is 500€ for chronometers and 750€ chronographs.
( converting to pounds is equal the same you paid.)
But vintage is a different league in terms of maintenance then sub 25y.o. watches like mine or @Collywobbles wife’s Seamaster
( your Original parts are much more “rare”, and may require direct Omega Headquarters input)
Independently the extension of repair, they’re asking price is the same. ( unfortunately for the ones who doesn’t need more then typical minimum cleaning and change of oil)
Interesting. The old dial they returned appeared to be cracked. So I wondered if it had been damaged when they serviced it and they felt they had to replace. My dealer also charges less for a battery when it doesn’t get sent to Omega
Could happen.
I tend to go to the Omega boutique in Lisbon. (it’s under the umbrella of the major watch dealer operating in Portugal who works exclusively with SwatchGroup brands) so I got the same prices going to AD,s or going to the Boutique. ( the watch services are done in the same workshop)
Here is my second watch received today. It is a very affordable (about 82 Canadian dollars). Despite its low price, it is very well built and attractive. It is a diver inspired watch, but not a real diver. I bought it because I liked the way it looks.
Very nice indeed. Yes it ended up going back home to Switzerland, where I was told it was in the queue … taking longer than expected due to lack of resources !!
Here is a very nice affordable watch. The Casio G-Shock Ga 2100. I bought two of them. One to wear in stock form, and the second one to mod.
Here is the Casio with the AP Royal Oak mod for me to assemble.
