I think the ivory looks quite nice. Summery and French.

Much, much nicer
Long time since I had an IWC (had a 3706 Fliegerchrono many, many years ago, followed by a Mk XVI and Mk XVII, which I all sold). Hadn’t really followed IWC for a number of years but then last week saw the Spitfire Mk XX on a friend’s wrist and was sold right away. Simple, comfortable, and with 120 hours of power reserve (!) and still reasonably priced in comparison to many other luxury brands.
Interesting. Never seen a watch with twin SU carbs.
I’d be worried… that’s some blue skin tone!
Assuming you’re not an aristocrat…but who knows?!
Can you put some vodka in the tube?
Just in case)
For a refill
That’s the most bizarre watch I’ve ever seen. Looks like it’s timed to go off shortly.
Bizarre is one way to describe it.
Airport security would be interesting.
Panerai now have a number of models, including with complications, in 40mm. They’re really lovely and discreet enough to fit under a shirt cuff.
Regarding IWC, they’ve just come up with an incredible new model, the Portuguese eternal calendar, which is a more precise perpetual calendar (you’re all set for the next 2000 years, and the moon phase is accurate for the next 45 million years). It is a truly astonishing complication, something that even 10 years ago would have been deemed impossible to implement in a mechanical movement. I had one in my hands a couple of weeks ago, and it is a stunning watch. Yours for the bargain price of USD120k (which frankly is not that expensive compared to what you pay these days on the grey market for simple Pateks or Audemars…).
Assuming that we still exist in 2000 years when the reset is due, and in 45 million years I wonder if there will be a watchmaker on Mars?
But yes it is a spectacular watch, saw pictures yesterday.
Normally I would agree with you, a watch is designed to tell the time, if I cannot read the time at a quick glance then the watch hasn’t done its job, which is why I avoid busy dials.
But somehow this works.
In the flesh it looks really stunning.
And £22.5k is the price for the « simple » Portuguese Calendar. The Eternal calendar is about £100k, or 3x the « mere » Perpetual calendar.
Thank you
I’ll slum it with my Tudor.
The XV in black with the buffalo strap was perfect imo.
Reduce the next Mark series to 38mm and fix or remove the date window and I’ll buy the next day.
