No NAIM, but here’s my TAG Heuer F1 Gulf Edition…
Mine 44 years…i feel painful to discover my age
I think it’s called the Celebration, very exclusive and hard to get. No company markets like Rolex.
Yes, I may treat myself to a new watch later in the year. It is possible that I may lose my driving license to medical reasons .
So I may treat myself …
Bought the Rolex beginning of the year, posted on here before.
I’m enjoying the watch very much. I can understand why some of you have collections of them.
Go on, you deserve it! I like the Celebration, it’s a cool piece.
An Apple Watch. I resisted for years because I think they are ugly but I like:
- having the exact time in big numbers that I can see even without glasses.
- magic for paying for things using Apple Pay.
- I can wear it for running
- for my weekly parkrun, it is convenient having my bar code on the watch
- I can feed my AirPods with podcasts and music when out and about.
I do appreciate fine precision engineering and admire all your lovely, expensive watches and I do own a classic Buren Gran Prix which I wear occasionally, but it’s Apple Watch for me now. And I still think they are ugly.
and you forget that autonomy is mediocre. barely 1 day.
If things pan out in a way that I lose my licence , then this may be an alternative to the Rolex
A quiet, restrained and unobtrusive number that goes out of it’s way not to draw attention to itself
It all depends on the results of the brain scan. I will not risk myself or others on the roads .
I charge it every night. Whilst charging it shows the time in big green letters that I can see.
I read Apple Watch Ultra 3 may have satellite messaging abilities.
I may pick up the Ultra 3 when released this fall to replace my 5 year old AW.
Let’s hope that the scan is good news for you, otherwise it’s that understated watch.
Very much so, at the moment just lucky to be alive , enjoying the weather , planning my holiday and wondering about watches
I like the design and look of this Chinese-made military style watch. Got it yesterday for just £15 on eBay. A nice contrast to the Rolexes and Pateks on here.
I like the colours, the large but not chunky dial, the layout of the face and the nylon strap. Who knows how long it will last but for less than the price of a couple of pints, why not? Some of these cheapo Chinese watches look quite nice so I might sample a few more…
Love it to Kev and the price and look and going to order one off E bay if I can locate it .
Very understated and stylish and not a show of wealth …you nailed it so concur with everything you posted 100%
Hope your getting better
Wishing you a nice weekend
Ian
Cheers Ian- you can also get these watches at The River. A lot of them look very nice and seem excellent value.
Hi Kev,
I posted these three Christmases ago, when I stuffed them into Christmas crackers as something of a joke prezzie for sons-in-law etc.
Not at all bad at three squid a pop?
They haven’t replaced my Submariner … … … yet.
Thanks Kev
I will put that into E bay search as my first couple didn’t bring anything up
A very late reply, but JLC is known as the watchmakers watchmaker. Patek, Audemars, Vacheron and other brands use JLC movements.
I’m sure JLC is nice, as with most, I had my eye on a Reverso that had two faces until I heard the service cost and duration.
