No does not. Maybe because it’s a vinyl only station. You can hear the pops 
Try a factory reset, that should fix any issues with the firmware update not going correctly. Make sure you use a wired ethernet connection whilst updating.

So after a couple of days did some listening tests with different type of music to get a feel for the effect of the firmware. First there is definitely some improvement from the first day. I still can’t intellectually understand it but it seems like there is a burn in happening of firmware or something else, but it has moved on positively. For call it sophisticated chamber jazz like the above albums, I hear a clear change in the music being more present, more details and also more PRAT. Don’t seem to be any negatives for this category….

For more heavy music I see a different impact. I also listened to some well known Pain of Salvation music and some others which you don’t see published in the pictures. Timing is very sharp - for this music almost too sharp. For instance the liquid tension experiment is already intense from itself and I have the feeling it get’s to the edge of being too fast (handling of time, decay etc). Overall I find also that the viscerallity and earthiness of this music while improved since day one still can improve for me a bit. It sounds still a bit on the gentle side, while this type of music needs to sound dirty. So perhaps in time it improves further or I get used to the new signature.

I think Naim managed to reduce noise somehow (that is probably what their tuning process is all about). Voices are clearer, instruments more detailed and separated, resulting in a more spacious- and natural presentation. It’s not a night and day difference, but the effect is very nice.

More voice oriented material which again I hear more than you see above. It had become more hifi (soundstage, depth, caracter in the voice). In principal this fits very well to this type of music as you hear more and get closure to the music. Especially if you listen to the total album of Rachell Ferrell it now deals very well with her searching for extremes, I don’t need to turn the volume down. However I would like to also say to the Naim HQ don’t get more hifi this is enough - keep the carachter.

I found the Naim support pages but when I found the instructions they would not show on my iPhone. Will have to try on my iPad when it’s recharged.

I agree with you. Every change I’ve made to the system that seems to reduce noise results in similar improvements that I hear with the new firmware i.e. improved vocal intonation, greater venue acoustics, improved image depth/width, better timing and improved frequency extreams.

The last category of things I tested is classical instrumental. The removal of noise obviously also pays off in this area. It leads to hearing more details, overtones, tonal accuracy and depth. So very good affects here as well. However the recording of Hilary Hahn I can’t unhear the version once at the Darzeel stand with an anologue version. Emotions came so much better through on the one hand as this was a super system but also digital doesn’t reach to analogue for such a type of recording.

I think somebody previously said that capacitors need to adapt and that’s why it takes a few days.

Capacitors certainly don’t need to adapt, as they just charge up and discharge as and when required.
Plus software burn in, come on guys really, its laughable.
The naim engineers must really laugh if they read this

Obviously there is a one time subroutine that agitates the pixie dust to level it out again, otherwise it’d all end up at one side of the casing leading to an SQ imbalance

Suspect it takes a while for our brains and ears to fully assimilate to a “new / different sound”
and this feels like burn in.
My ATC manual states it can take time to adjust to a new sound.

A quick google and AI suggests that firmware upgrades that take time to “burn in” have been discussed on the DCS forum, much the same discussion as this thread.

Maybe due to user overlap.. It only takes a single poster for AI to think it is the truth. Therefore never trust it.

I’ve certainly experienced what seems like a burn-in effect with each new firmware release I’ve installed. In fact 3.12 was sound a little off today. A bit thick in the bass with a slight loss of attack. Left the system playing most of the day and it’s sounding much better now.
What I’m loving about 3.12 is the added drama and tension it creates. It’s like someone has come in and re-tuned all the musicians instruments! There’s a real tautness to the sound that I’ve not heard before.
