Can’t be certain, but Classic Radio sending MP3’s sounded very good today. I am also running in a pair of new speaker cones, so determining if there is any sound improvements will be inconclusive.
For sure, new version brings new features (whatever they are).
That’s written in the list of contens.
About sound quality is another matter.
Some found improvements, some consider before was better, some other says no change …
Reality is only Naim team knows what they have put in there sortware because we agree hardware remains the same …
That does mean only Naim knows if new version brings a change (up or down) in sound quality.
All of what we consider is not objective but subjective.
I don’t know why, but I clearly see Naim team member laughing when they read our posts
Nevertheless, have an excellent Sunday !
Sincerly yours from France,
Bertrand
I can hear a subtle differences, 4.7 to 4.8.
Is it better? In some ways yes, in some ways no.
The ultimate truth is that it’s staying.
Change history, for my ears and my system:
4.4 to 4.6, significant and quite surprising improvement
4.6 to 4.7, no significant difference.
4.7 to 4.8, slight changes, possible slight improvement.
It’s simple:
