500 v 2x300 active?

@TimOopNorth you know you love those speakers. You will regret getting rid of them. You can always sell them later. A second (or third) system will need speakers at some point.

Already have second (nsats and atom) and third system (n system in cinema room). My house is already too cluttered - better for someone else to enjoy them and I will be free to get some again at a later date if I wish

I would quite like to but I just want to try to keep life as simple as possible and keep the cash outlay down. Apart from anything else I need some money for a greenhouse

Looks like a Jimmy Hughes setup :yum:

Tim know the feeling I have been getting one deadline after another…it is typical with architecture … 1% inspiration 99% perspiration…can’t wait for Xmas break… when I probably will get ill…doh…

It’s a bit odd - am trying to persuade her to go for a larger one than she thinks she wants, on the basis that getting a larger one now is cheaper / less frustrating than getting one too small. I also quite like the idea of one large enough to sit in with a book and a glass of something tasty of an evening. The light should make for good reading conditions

I always have either too much work or not enough - forensic accountant. The run up to Christmas is usually a bit painful, and quite often don’t get a proper break over Christmas itself.

Maybe the SBLs can reside in the new greenhouse with a fourth system! Could use the 300s out there with the 500 on its way!

Yep it’s a roller coaster for me too … feast or famine a cruel reality… anyway interspersed with fantastic musical interludes…

Nooooooooooooo! The SBLs were actually sold months ago, but lockdown has prevented delivery

There’s a name to conjure with!

Yes he of Mr Belts fellowship!!! those were strange times…

I have no idea what you two are on about. Anyway, the electrician came today but new spur too big a job to fit in now - so will happen in the new year (on the plus side he put the new projector up for me so we have the cinema room works ing again, yay!)

In the case of the wacky ideas of the late Mr Belt, it’s probably best for your sanity if they remain unknown

IIRC some of Mr Belt’s suggestions included; tying reef knots in the cables, not wearing a battery watch, or having a battery operated clock in the room [ mechanical wind-up are fine ] and if you have a four legged table under the LP12 try putting a playing card under one foot so only three feet are in contact with the carpet

And they were the mildly sane ones! However, I use to keep a piece of the green Linn stylus paper tucked under the foot of my LP12 and I swear it sounded better!

Not too long ago I got a similar tip from someone, to put a folded piece of paper (4 layers or so) under one device foot and he admitted it sounds insane but is really better. Not tried so far, though
