You have been a naughty boy even by my standards😉
Interesting - this is a photo taken of tineo 808s from a well known dealer’s site
The colour looks quite different in your photo - much “better”. I did think from the above photo it was closer to light cherry fraim than I remembered from when I last saw 606s or 707s (though I can’t even remember what colour those were as I wasn’t taking notice of colour then)
Blimey, you have had a good run, Tim.
Any tips?
Pete of acoustica when I last saw him showed me a picture of a pair of 808s he had just installed in a room where they were sort of in an alcove either side of a fireplace and he said they sounded great and would work well in my room (he knows it moderately well)
I forgot to say that my wife declared that the SL2s were far better than most speakers as they didn’t have the big circles on the front and had wood on the front
Choose your wife extremely carefully and earn lots of money and be very careful with it . She even thinks I am an excellent financial planner . I even raced the first caterham for a season in 2000, but decided I didn’t want to spend £5k a year continuing
We both know that when / if Pete rocks up with those Kudos 808s, he’s such a nice chap, that “Resistance is Useless”.
Good luck!
Yeah I understand but the sub transforms them into an ultra wide bandwidth speaker…how about a complete change kii3 that way you could get rid of all the amps… just have a twin supply ND555… that would be interesting… anyway you do have lots of options and a lovely home … I sure you will find your goal keep us in the loop it is interesting
I think the colour in the dealer’s photo is about right and matches mine. As you say it is a very good match with cherry Fraim too. Bear in mind that the cabinets darken down quite a bit in their first year with exposure to daylight.
Yes, that is a good representation of the standard Tineo and yes it does match the Fraim cherry nicely.
No doubt, the 808’s are going to sit out in your room more than the SL2. I happen to like the view from the side mores than straight on. Also, the black circles can be hidden with the very nice grills that come with the set- you can always remove them when listening? I just keep the lower grills on the bass cab all the time- breaks up the visual stack nicely.
Good luck with the Mrs…I think the sound will shock you coming from SL2’s
I wonder if some of the “view” I have of tineo is confused by seeing red tineo. Thanks for the comments
All of this nonsense without having listened properly so far . Still I shall be rectifying that ASAP
I have to agree with @Gazza …, by my standards too… great material though - I’ll be keeping this in my back pocket for when I’m next in trouble to show how lucky she is!
Wow, perfect, thank you yes… especially the one photo’d next to the hi-hat!
I’ve just deploy the photo’s in a pre-offensive… I think it’s back-fired… I’ve been threatened with a “jobs-list” as she thinks I must have too much time on hands!
Talking to my dealer the things they have to do for some customers, sneaking hifi in when the wife is out, dummy receipts…funny, but overall rather sad.
Holy crap … man oh man you do nothing by halves!!! Respect…I can see why a pair of 805 D3’s would not suit!..cripes. By the way love you car choice … sigh…
In my case I balance the HiFi spend to my wife’s ‘horses’ spend!
