552 333, whats on top?

Hi all, just got a 333 to replace ny nd5xs2 and I have a three tier fraim. Lots of other brawn fraim as i have active dbls. Recently moved the 552 to the top stack and it sounds really good there. They are two tall full fat fraims and a base. Planning to put a machined radikal on the base, then the 333 and the 552 on top. Logic tells me to place the 333 at the top but the 552 sounds spot on there. What do you guys think?
The radikal is currently under the lp12 on its own fraim but i want to try nothing under the lp12 with just a base and one tall top for the linn. The linn responds well to less weight.

The 552 like a bit of space around it, so I’d leave it at the top. Are you using the internal power supply in the 333 or an external supply ?

Only the internal supply, I know it needs the external, but one step at a time for me

You may want to try and put another shelf between the 333 and the 552 for now, just to keep the internal transformer of the 333 away from the 552. This won’t be an issue when you move to external supply for the 333 as that will be in the brawn stack.

very good point, its a bit of a compromise, at the moment, when I had a cds3 and superline, there were no transformers on that rack. While on the subject of the 333, is it safe to ram a powerlines into its IEC ? It seems very decoupled and powerlines need a bit of force. Just don’t want to damage anything.

There should be no problem with a Power-Line. Just make sure it’s fully inserted. As you know, they need a good push to go fully home which can sometimes feel a bit strange with the ‘loose’ mains IEC socket on the Naim kit.
