I’m looking for either for a adapter or lead to connect another source to my CB42.5,
I am on a budget (ish) is there any thing that works well or not,
Been looking for days now,
I’ve found a couple of chord leads online
1 is chord cobra2 and 1 is a crimson plus,
Or a cheap plastic less than a tenner connector be sufficient and I spend my money on some decent rca leads,
Your thoughts are most appreciated
Look for custom lynx, there’s a section for 5 pin 2 rca interconnects.
@robert_h thanks for that, seen them,
I can actually spend abit more than that But not £100’s or £1000’s
I am looking at s/h leads also,
Chord do some good 5 pin to RCA interconnects but Naim also do 5 pin to RCA leads themselves and there is nothing wrong with them at all. I would avoid cheap eBay leads they can be of questionable quality.
I don’t really like adaptors but they serve a purpose perhaps temporarily to do some trying of options.
The only one I’d recommend is the Mayware RCA-DIn connector.
Especially with Naim kit.
Available from a great dealer in particular.
I’m looking at cobra 2 or crimson plus
Lead, was wondering which one be best for me,
@Skeptikal i don’t really like adapters either
I use the following one (or similar) after some cable shootout with 3 din-din and 3 rca-rca. As usual my experience being that cable level itself is much more important than interface
I saw on some market sites there is a vintage Naim 5 pin to rca with latching Din (apparently) for chrome bumper, I’m very interested but you shall get it if needed.
Otherwise Chord Chrysalis and Cobra 1 are great. The former got a locking Din, while the later sounds a tad warm that matching Naim CB. Never heard any Cobra 2 though.
Not recommend any adapters.
@juliushui if you want it get it,
Thanks for the thought tho,
And info
I use a couple of old Chord Cobra 2 leads RCA-RCA between a NAC72 and a midi size Yamaha CD player, and this works very well.
Have no experience with Crimson.
There’s a Flashback Sales on a well known auction site. These leads have had good reviews in the past.
I believe flashback, like snaics, are slightly directional. Check which end the label is on first…
A naim rca to 5 pin Din is about £100. Try that.
