Itâs the future. ![]()
Their âWalkmanâ ainât all thatâŚ
What do you mean ?
Back to the future.
Too understatedâŚneeds more garish bling.
I mean itâs not all that!
Itâs OK on some shop bought tapes but terrible with anything recorded at home on any player.
I did make a few adjustments, azimuth etc., after I got it which helped, but it sounds different with every tape you put in it. Doesnât self-stop on rewind or fast forward either which is beyond irritating. Looks great but it ainât.
My decades old Sony WMD3 smashes it hundredfold.
And how about the Fiio you have bought I think to remember ?
Not a Fiio cassette player, I have one of their DAPâs thoughâŚ
Looks like a boombox designed by someone who never had a boombox.
My last one. Philips D8634, complete with phono stage and wooden detachable speakers, if memory serves me right it was ÂŁ179.99 in 1985â ish.
Well other than the Sony party speaker / dock in the cabin with the light array behind the speaker cones.
A Muso with a handle?
No one likes the look of it. I am alone. This thing can record , so you can have a portable music source for holidays, with your favourite albums. No need Wifi or Ethernet.
I like the looks - it has a simple, functional look and who can resist such a prominent pair of needle meters?
A Panasonic âBoomboxâ was my gateway into getting into hifi proper, so Iâm all for it.
Six people bothered replying so far, the post has five likes. I think youâre not alone.
Youâre never alone Bro!
Thereâs always Google, Meta and / or Amazon with you.
It was the obligatory millennial tatted arm that prevented me from liking it.
And that all this new retro stuff is a re-creation and somehow always misses the point IMO, much cooler to restore originals.
I believe it comes with a free Bic Pen for manual rewinding.
Hahaha
. It reminds me that, I used to do it sometimes. Maybe the new tapes are better realised todays ?
