I have a NAP 300 and an NAC 272. They both have separate power supplies. I also have a NAS to store high resolution music. I would like to be able to stream Apple Music through the home stereo and NAC 272 but using Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what component I would need to buy to be able to feed the NAC 272 in the highest quality possible from my iPhone? I also have a new 65 inch LG G5, which also has Apple Music on it so I guess I could stream Apple Music from the TV to the stereo?
Welcome - and great setup! Is Apple Music your primary streaming source? If it’s more for passive listening, then I would think the TV into the 272s DAC would be a good option. And you get the album art on screen as a bonus.
But not sure about the stream quality. Others here will be much more qualified to answer.
Does the 272 accept an Apple music stream over wifi?
The small WIIM PRO is compatible with Apple Music, I believe, for only €140.
Simply connect it to the NAC272 via the RCA coaxial digital input if you want to use the NAC272’s DAC, or via the RCA line input on the NAC272 if you want to use the DAC on the VIIM PRO.
Then the WIIM app does the rest.
Or via AIRPLAY2.
If Airplay is all that’s required, a WiiM mini for 70 bucks will get the job done
You have several options:
Cable from phone to 272 USB port.
Switch your Apple Music subscription to Tidal.
Optical cable from TV to 272
Buy a cheap streamer that supports Apple Music and connect it to a 272 SPDIF port.
