Hi, I’m posting this here, but I don’t know if the problem is with MinimServer or the Naim app… mostly, album contents will display like this (the default display):
Like this, it won’t advance to the next track. This is on an album-to-album basis: an album won”t switch between the two types of display; it’s either one or the other. Deleting and re-importing the above album into my music library didn’t change anything: it stays in the same display format when re-imported. Anyone know what’s going on or had the same problem…?
Hi TimD, it will not be the Naim app, the app can only display what the server sends it.
I’ve had something similar with Asset UPnP, but only with one album, and it always displayed the same.
In this case it was a metadata error & a few minutes on Mp3Tag fixed it.
You don’t say what your UPnP server is.
The Minimserver guru’s might have some other ideas.
From a generic standpoint (i’ve not used your particular server), this issue arises in some software when the “Album Artist” tag is not set for each track. Usually, for album like this (and compilations etc) where each track has a different artist, all tracks need to have the same “Album Artist”. Something like Various Artists or in this case Kruder and Dorfmeister.
Try using a tag editor to add the “Album Artist” field
It depends how you are searching. If the album artist is set to K&D but each track has different artists, you will get multiple albums when searching by artist, but one when searching by album artist. If you search by album it should show the whole thing. That’s how Asset works, but Minim may be different. Whatever, it’s a Minim issue.
Have you ripped this into iTunes? If so I think the oddity lies in the attribution of artist etc in the data fields, as others have suggested. To fix it you need to look in iTunes at ‘Get info’ for the album overall and for each individual track. Sometimes there are inconsistencies that create oddities. For example does it say the album is a compilation of artists. Look through all the data fields and make sure they are simple and consistent across all tracks and the album itself.
