Alex Ligertwood best known as lead vocalist for Santana for many years, also played with the Average white band, Jeff Beck, Brian Auger amongst others. He was aged 79. I personally saw him a couple of times with Santana, thanks for the music Alex, r.i.p.

Morning Gazza, just come across this post. Must say I enjoyed his vocals whilst with Santana, at least they had a bit of character to them. Which is more than can be said for some that featured.

Yes, and he wrote some good songs too………died in his sleep apparently. Interesting, no real tribute from Carlos for a band member of 15 years, others like Tony Lindsay did…..seems poor show.

Oh, that’s a shame, you would expect better from CS, but we don’t know what goes on behind the scenes. Agree about the songwriting. Cheers Gazza.
