I have been running Alexa through my audio system for a few years now and it’s been a useful way to access BBC Sounds and other information while making use of an old Echo Dot.
And ?
Ho do you set that up please ?
You can connect an Echo to a stereo using either 3.5mm to RCA cable (if the Echo model supports it),or Bluetooth.
We have an Echo in the kitchen. Very useful for radio, Tidal (from phone via Bluetooth) and the absolute best feature is the shopping list ![]()
It’s a tip on a forum that someone may find helpful.
I added a Logitech Bluetooth adapter to the preamp input but you could use a 3.5mm to phono adapter if the Dot has a jack.
where is the tip ? you give no explanation !

If you have a modern streamer such as ND5XS2, NDX2 or 333 then they have Bluetooth built in.
I don’t understand your question. My intention was to share something I added to my audio setup which I found useful. If you have no interest in it then I would recommend moving to a different post. I followed up the “how” with a follow up post.
I just want you to understansd that your post is not clear (for me).
don’t know if it was a question, or an affirmation.
and you just don’t explain how you did it. wich cable ? bluetooth ? etc…
but if anyone understand, I apologize.
it’s the same if I said :
have been running Airplay through my audio system for a few years now and it’s been a useful way to access good sound with TV while making use of an old appleTV.
I don’t have quite that set-up. In my kitchen I have a Dot (without a port) and a Wiim streamer (Alexa aware) connected to a pair of small powered speakers (RCA - speakers do not have a DAC). It’s nice to be able to call out to Alexa to play a radio station or playlist, while you’re busy stirring the risotto.
It’s nothing revolutionary but having Alexa through your audio system opens up possibilities that some folk may not have considered. As for the “how” that is covered in the subsequent replies to my original post.
In short, you didn’t understand the meaning of my answers. Never mind, let’s move on.
I think we’ve covered everything now.
