Do you want to match the cable pairs, or find two different cables that complement one another on the mids and tweeters?
If I’m honest I’m not sure atm, I’m fairly happy with the Phantom on the tweeters, it would depend if I could find another cable that would compliment the Phantom.
I did have some Spectre on order which would of hopefully worked OK and hopefully improved on the A5.
Given that it’s a crap shoot, and that you won’t know until you try it whether any particular cable is going to work, it might be sensible just to try the cable that was recommended on a sale or return basis.
Did he say why he was recommending it?
Presumably, the main reason to recommend it would be if it was particularly good on the drivers and the speakers you are planning to use it on.
Only if you like the idea of owning of course - otherwise you need to look further afield and find something that does take your fancy.
Something that appeals to you.

The Spectre was more expensive and supposed to be better than Phantom, so it seems that the general consensus is that OCC Copper is better than plated OFC Copper.
Make no mistake, the Spectre is orders of magnitude better than the Phantom. Just my opinion of course.
Looks interesting, new to me.
Individual conductors looks familiar to Vertere and S Lumina.
I was scaringly close to order the Spectre back then, obviously happy I didn’t end up there.
Decided to sell on my Phantom as needed a bit longer length, exciting how KS-1 will perform.
I always have a spare set of cables lying around - some old Linn K20, not bad and peanuts buying.
I went from Phantom to KS-1 to Spectre and each step was a big improvement in my system for sure.
But Phantom is certainly no slouch.
Agreed
Phantom is tin plated and KS-1 is silver plated.
Looks like I am in a similar position to the OP. Just moved my listening room around and as a result I need longer cables. Hence I have switched from my relatively short run of phantoms to my old, and longer NACA5. My lounge is about 6m by 4m, and the system was set up across the width of the room, now its along the length of the room.
In the new position the frequency response (as measured) is now very good, without too much bass - something i have been able to tweek by moving the speakers around. The dynamics have improved, but the treble is harsh and nearly unlistenable. As a temporary measure I have put the too short phantoms back in and the nasty treble has gone and its lovely again. It cant stay like this as the cables are now a serious trip hazard. So I need longer cables, which is obviously a problem with the demise of Witch hat.
But maybe its the combination of my Focals and A5 which is the problem and the phantom was masking the issue.
I presume from the above conversation its going to need to be either a) second hand set of phantom “if” they crop up for sale b) some Kudos KS-1 cable or c) look to swap out the speakers and keep the NACA5 d) move my room back to what it was.
Or are there any other alternatives?
e-bay ?
I think the Phantoms are lovely cables by the way .
I didn’t know how much Kudos KS1 cost, looked it up about the same as Witch Hat .
best wishes

Responding to the thread title: physical speaker cables! Music definitely sounds better through them. Sorry, music definitely sounds through them … whether better depends on your imagination, and how good the speakers and rest of system are!
Tchernov cables go very well with Naim and Focal. The classic range are richer and more engaging than WH Phantom and more open and detailed than NACA5.
Thanks, just had a look at their website to learn more and it says “made in russia”, which rules it out for me.
I’ve had mine quite a while…
I have to say though, I’m a little disappointed with the WH Phantoms, having heard good things about them here and elsewhere.
Mogami 3082. You can buy it terminated with banana plugs on Amazon. Using with my office system Supernait 2. Cheap and sounds surprisingly better than Naca5. Open, detailed and very musical sound. Takes time to run-in. Generous return policy from the seller.
Seriously… try it.
No. I use Superlumina in my 500 system.
Mogami is “poor-man’s” Superlumina. I’ve been surprised by how musical it sounds.
Sounds like my kind of thing…
