Just seen on BBC News.
I remember watching his Last Night of the Proms speeches in the 90s, which were very funny. A great conductor too. What a shame.

Indeed a great loss
He was a very fine conductor, I saw many Proms (and other concerts) with him and the BBCSO in the ‘90s, always a great experience. RIP.
