Hello everyone, am I missing something here (please see the screen capture), the Android app doesn’t include a 'back option - how do I navigate back to my music library?
It’s been a long time since I used the Naim app on Android, but I vaguely recall being similarly confused for a while until I realised that there was a back arrow at the bottom of the screen. Somehow that just didn’t seem intuitive.
No idea whether or not that is still the case, or whether it applies to all of the varied devices that run Android.
Just swipe right.
The Android OS has always had a back button so app developers just use this whereas IOS never has so the app developer would have to add one to the app.
Ummm not true. Modern Android on things like Google Pixel have no back button. Back on everything is swipe right.
The inclusion of a back button either physical or on screen is the responsibility of the UI developer which is often custom to each handset. Default Android with the plain vanilla Google UI is just gesture based.
You can switch between the 3 button navigation and gesture navigation, I didn’t know that gesture navigation had become the default.
Hello Everyone - I’m refering to the ability to navigate back to my main music library - the ‘back’ option is available on IOS but not for Android
I used Primare app on android.
I have three options if I want to go back.
Hit arrow at top left
Hit arrow at bottom left.
Sweep right.
You can go back by swiping from either the left or the right.
Android has two navigation modes, you choose one when you set up your phone or tablet. The older mode has three buttons at the bottom of the screen with a triangle/left chevron icon navigating back/up. The newer gesture navigation doesn’t have these, you swipe from the left edge of the screen to go back, it looks like this is the mode you have active in the tablet screenshot above.
I can’t stand gesture mode so I always change to button navigation when setting up any Android device. Samsung is particularly annoying as they place the back button on the right by default so that always has to be swapped over to the left
