Here’s an outline about what this category is all about. Problematic cds. I’ve recently added a Naim CD5si to my hifi. It’s fabulous and I’m really enjoying the immersive sound from my CDs. However one particular cd won’t play and its Pink Floyd Animals 2024 remaster. I just get an error message. Anyone else have a problem with this disc, or any others. It’s quite new and very clean.
Is there a 2024 remaster? Thought that was the 2018 version with added Blu-Ray and Dolby Atmos nonsense?
There’s certainly a known issue with the 2018 version, which was occasionally not Red Book compliant in terms of CD thickness. Fixed with some tape I vaguely recall or a new puck but only in some instances. Others may correct me here but I thought in the majority of cases it simply ended up being uncooperative with all Naim CDPs.
There was a new ish version repeated in 2024.
“The Animals Dolby Atmos Mix will be released on blu-ray on 17 May 2024.“
Maker sure you are trying to play a CD and not a Blu-ray Disc which won’t work.
If it’s this version, it isn’t a CD.
Yes its the 2018 remix cd that was released in 2024.
