Great actor and politician. Not one to be caught up in any nonsense.
The final sentence of her Guardian obit…content to pour scorn on any passing folly or hypocrisy.
More like you desperately needed.
Sort ‘em out. I know you won’t be resting.
A true great in all she did. We were fortunate to see King Lear, it was an incredible performance. RIP.
I posted earlier today about Women in Love on another forum. I also got to see her on the stage five years ago in an Edward Albee play. She won the Tony.
A great loss.
Art wise a sad loss RIP, but a bit of a champagne socialist for my taste.
There is nothing wrong with having money and believing in a fair society. She did a fine job as both actor and politician, and will be very much missed.
Stuff the Oscars, the Emmy and the Tony, she performed with Morecambe and Wise
Besides working with the Muppets she also was an MP
I believe she said it was one her most memorable performances
An incredible lady who excelled in all her arts and political activities. RIP.
She also worked with the Muppets …
Checking back I saw her play Phedra and Mother Courage in stage, her power in both was incredible, yet my strongest memories are her M&W and Muppets performances.
