Any update on the vtuner outage please Jan 2025

It should be working on a Nova (fine on my Atom).

Roger

Yes, a Nova should be fine, so long as the FW is up to date so it has Naim’s new Internet Radio Service onboard. Just be sure to remove your existing Vtuner presets, otherwise the device will be looking for this instead.

I have a Unitilite so presumably affected by this vTuner issue. Should l be doing something to update, remove presets or should l just wait for vTuner to fix the existing problem? Not very techbically minded!

Got a short term “fix” for no ClassicFM on my MuSo by connecting my iPad to my MuSo with bluetooth and using Global Player. Battery drain!

Unfortunately you are bit stuck until either vtuner is fixed or the updated naim radio service arrives for OC kit. Are you able to Bluetooth from phone or iPad to Unitilight as a temp measure?

Thanks for the advice. I’ll give Bluetooth a go, starting from a position of total ignorance - or wait for vTuner fix!

I am seeing advice to update firmware, but where do I find the firmware? The latest option in see is from 2021.

What is OC kit?

Yes give Bluetooth a go, I use this for podcasts. When the new firmware arrives you will have to delete any current presets and find the new streams and save these

For which Naim device?

Qute-065A and NDX-98FS

Hello.
My ND5XS does not play InternetRadio anymore either.
Do I just wait for any fixes?
Or can I fix it myself?
Thx.

Is it a Vtuner issue that can be solved or is it end of agreement on January 31st and not having software ready for the new radio service?

For me the Radio Garden App on my mobile bluetoothed to my Mu-so Gen1 does the trick for now. Looking forward to the firmware update and higher bitrate streams again in the new more stable iRadio platform

Vtuner provide the service so ultimately it’s in their hands. However, as you’re no doubt aware, since the last big Vtuner outage a year ago, Naim have been working to ensure they have their own Internet Radio service so they don’t have to rely on others. Naim’s Internet Radio was released a few months ago and seems to be working very well for current products, and Naim have since been working on making it available for legacy products as well. They’re not quite there yet with the service for legacy kit, so this Vtuner outage right now is unfortunate. Apart from that, best we wait for an update from Naim on Monday.

I am having the same issue with my Qb

Yes well aware of the history. I was mainly wonder if it’s a by someone active decision to shut it down forever or if it’s an issue that will get solved. Because if the first alternative then 100% of the users using radio on the old platform need to make a software update. And as you know it’s not a smooth process like pressing an update button

Same here Mike, my green logo unitilite can receive Naim jazz internet radio but nothing else! :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Sorry BB, I don’t really know what Vtuner’s intentions are. All I know is that Naim are not alone here - indeed, one thread here was started yesterday by a Pioneer owner looking for advice, and their unit had been unable to get iRadio through Vtuner’s service since the start of the year…

Naim may be able to give more of an update on Monday.
