For those who using minimserver/minimstreamer can use the feature to play a internetstream on the renderer:
Hi Richard
Is there any further update from Naim re internet radio - mine is an NDS. Rgds
Rohit
Same here
4 musos gone quiet
Are any of your Mu-Sos 2nd Gen (Mu-So2)? If so, you can use the new Naim Internet Radio service right now and not have to wait until Feb 14 for Naim to launch it for older Naim streamers.
Yes, I fully support this contribution. Naim hides behind this kind of forum rather than provide a decent customer service.
In the āmagickalā world of technology laying out oodles of cash doesnāt guarantee anything. My 100 dollar Wiim streamer (which uses vtuner) is working without issue.
Thank you
Customer service is produced by the dealer network, plus Naim themselves; you can email them or phone them and talk to Duncan or whoever answers from the multi person customer support desk (was 6 people).
Although even on a Wiim, you do have to determine that the BBC streams arenāt available all of a sudden and go out and find then apply workaraounds for thatā¦
Same for all except where thereās a collaboration agreement between the brand & the beeb.
Ok, just read the Naim post and realise my Unitilite is legacy so lām in a pickle. Where can l find totally non-technical guidance on any of this? I donāt even know how to link it to Bluetooth in the meantime. Iāve downloaded the app but none the wiser. This equipment was pretty expensive years ago and is now looking like a waste of money! Currently having to use a little portable mono radio to listen to music! I need something that works through also expensive speakers!! Help!!
We will guide you through doing the update yourself next week, when the firmware is available. (In the event that the instructions published by Naim confuse you).
Youāll need a usb mini cable like this, you might already have one, to connect your computer to the socket on the back of the unitilite.
Weāve provided help from the forum many times in the past and Iām sure this is an option to consider.
Your dealer will do it for you, you will need to take it to them, it takes 20-30 minutes including connect up time.
Or a nearby experienced and willing Naim user - where do you live, maybe a volunteer will step up.
The install instructions are included in the firmware package from Naim and they also include links to the correct cable driver software.
This makes it something that can be done by a local computer service company on a home visit or even computer geek type person.
Thatās true but you do need the streamās url. And I donāt think any BBC streams are working. There,s a long thread about it on the minimstreamer forum.
Roger
As I live in Germany I only use German Station like Deutschlandfunk. This work Fine for me. BBC I didnāt try.
Get a wiim mini.
Hi, Iām not sure if I have a ālegacyā Muso or second generation - the build version is 11886. Either way, iradio is completely empty despite doing all the usual reboots and app deletes. Should I hold on and wait for the update to roll out to legacy units or do I have second generation and so should be able to access the new service? Thanks
If the volume ring is solid metal then itās a 1st Gen. Otherwise just check the firmware version in the App. If it is a 2 Gen then you should be able to access the new iRadio service right now and not have to wait.
