App Update (7.2 iOS)

Let’s see what this brings then…!

Who’s going to go first…? :face_with_peeking_eye::rofl:

Every app update says “bug fixes and improvements “

Of course, I know…
Just be nice to have a bit more details instead of the vague blanket….

I have no problem updating it but it’s not available for me yet. I still only see App Version 7.1.1(11754)

I guess still filtering through servers around the world….Empty cache or reboot your router, you may jump it along…

The new iRadio section re Added Stations.

Not much else seems immediately obvious…I haven’t yet confirmed the metadata editing fix on the Core…

No problems with the desktop version.

Strictly speaking, there isn’t a desktop version….I’m guessing you mean using the iOS version on an Apple Silicon based Mac…?

SC

Yes. It’s a version of the app which is on my desktop.

Yes, handy feature of the M Macs being able to run the iOS Apps…(eventually it will all be the same OS ecosystem, though I do actually disagree with the homogenising of the OS between desktop and iOS)….

Out of interest re the Naim App, does it go full screen or sit within a sized window…?

I went through a very useful period of writing to the various people I beta test for and suggesting that “bug fixes and improvements” was an utterly useless thing to post and they would have better apps if they assumed user intelligence and laid out exactly what had changed. Those users who had zero interest would continue as they were whereas those of us paying attention could discover useful changes and test specific things more rigorously.

One actually wrote back and advised that they didn’t really detail fixes for themselves so they didn’t see the point of doing it for users. Suffice to say they no longer exist.

Friend of mine long since departed for a life in the US works for Cloudstrike. Now there’s a company who have learned the value of detailing what they’ve changed with a tad more transparency.

As well as being able to add radio stations, this version has the useful ability to see which version is high res in Tidal. It’s something that was requested on the Forum, so I passed on the request via beta, and now we have it.

Thanks, useful to know…:+1:

Yes, I saw that in the Includes list.
Good stuff – and useful for those that use Tidal.
Strange that it was missed initially really, considering Qobuz had it all along (yes I know Tidal Max is a relatively new addition)…
I use Qobuz when I do stream, so won’t see the new Tidal icon in searches….

Since the update my NDS keeps disappearing from the app, OK in Roon tho".

Tried the usual, reboot all, and router if necessary…?

Hopefully, a patch isn’t needed to fix the er, patch…! :flushed:

Mine updated automatically
I have not noticed !!

Will be down to your devices preference settings on App updates re Auto or Manual….
Something, imo, I’d advise to always have on manual – many a update (whether it’s mobile based or desktop OS etc) has turned out to be a dud or caused issues elsewhere…there’s arguably wisdom in waiting and letting reports come in from early adopters…! And then choosing when/if you want to update.

I used to run a graphic design/pre-press studio and now also do more network based work and I will never jump into a update feet first, whether it be software or OS, standard practice really….I’ve still got a Mac or two pegged at 10.14 as it’s the last version that worked ok with certain versions of Adobe PS and Imacon scanner software….

To be fair, you’re probably on safer ground with mobile App updates, but things do still occur…hence, ‘patches’ ….
