I have a cheap (Culilex?) USB-C to Toslink converter. No reclocking. I use it to connect my iPhone to a QB-2. Do you think substituting the SMSL would make a difference?
No idea to be honest.
I would guess if you’re using TosLink that is already providing isolation, so with the Qb likely more than good enough.

Can’t say, but the smsl PO100 is cheap, I have seen your converter too before I decided to go for the smsl.
