AQ RJ45 noise stopper caps

Anyone tried these little gadgets for blocking unused ports on an audio switch?

It is claimed they can reduce unwanted RFI and EMI noise from entering the active circuit of the switch…

Sorry, I honestly don’t believe in this …

Oh purleez!

Another AudioCost product looking for punters!

Very effective in reducing your bank balance I suspect. If they are on sale or return then give them a go and see what you think.

These must be good 6 reviews on their website and all 5 star rave reviews.

I have. No difference that I heard.

The primary noise source for most switches is the chipset(s) inside it and the SMPS powering it…so it makes sense that I heard nothing.

My Gustard N18 Pro comes with port covers like these. Their only use, imo, is to keep dust and debris out of the switch. They are excellent in this regard.

I have the USB version for the port on the front on my NDS.

But this was because I didn’t like the look of an empty unused slot on the front panel - the actual USB port is disabled in the setting menu and I don’t use it.
I tried a rubber type one, but this metal one looks better.

It’s a shame they are only sold in sets of four. I wouldn’t mind paying for one for the front of my Atom HE.

Yes, however I bought the package and then sold the rest

If anyone’s interested … Amazon sell them in packs of 30 (or less) for peanuts (£4.99)
They are just like the AQ plugs, absolutely unless for blocking any RF noise, marginally effective at reducing ambient noise (albeit very uncomfortable) if used as ear plugs, but good at keeping dust and spiders out of your RJ45 ports.

My Luxman gear came with free plastic covers for all the inputs. As stated in the manual, they would not stop RF, only static and dust buildup and deposits.
