Are NAP300 Burndy's same as 555PS burndys?

So I just purchased a used NAP300 DR/NAP300PS set but the prev owner shipped without any cables and can’t find them! I know! …so…trying to source.

I see some used 555 PS burndys on eBay. Are these the same as the 300’s set or am I looking at getting something completely different? Also, I assume the 4-PIN DIN to XLR cables are the mono versions. Help appreciated…

No, the 300 Burndy power cables are specific to the NAP 300. If the owner didn’t include them then you were cheated on the sale of the product. Ditto for the DIN-XLR mono cables. Those are part of the product too.

It’s just bonkers that someone would have a NAP 300 to sell, but doesn’t have the power and IC cables it includes and requires. I would return it for refund if the cables aren’t provided. You’ve been duped otherwise, IMO.

If you have to source all those cables new from Naim you can be easily looking at $2500 (2 x Burndy + 2 x DIN4-XLR). These aren’t cables you’ll likely ever find on the 2nd hand market, because they are proprietary to the NAP 300 (although the DIN4-XLR can be upgraded to Naim SL or 3rd party).

Rather raises the question of what the seller is going to do with the burndies…..

Maybe there just wasn’t time to grab the burndies and interconnects before speeding off in the white van.

A NAP300 is no good without its Burndy cables and, as JdeP has posted above, they are specific to that model so useless for anything else.

I’ve also made an edit to your post - please respect and abide by forum rules. Thanks.

Sooo. Update. Thank for the replies - that helped! The seller found the cables after some pushing…these were impossible to source reasonably so happy. Looking forward to setting up the 300.

How can you lose them?

Do they really mean they went back to the scene of the crime? :joy:

Crazy to think he didn’t ’find’ them earlier. Maybe he thought he could sell them separately….?.

The real question is why are the bundies for a 300 different to that of a 500?

I think the slightly different size connector was to prevent anyone trying to connect say a 500PS to a NAP300 or vice versa.
