For me it’s Van the man.
I always despised the perpetually grumpy Irishman and his Brown Eyed Girl. I think I was the wrong age to dare to take the trouble to see why people like Michael Eavis rated him so highly.
It wasn’t until lockdown 2020 came and I decided to watch The Sopranos from start to finish.
In one particularly dramatic episode they use Glad Tidings a few times. I loved it.
Next step Astral Weeks (always knew it to be a classic but had given it a wide birth because of my association to the brown eyed girl nonsense).
5 months on and I’d say Astral Weeks and Moondamce are two of my favourite albums of all time I rate the live album too
