Asset and Shared folder

Hi
Have asset on my Synology nas. Music is on a shared folder. I dont see how to get asset to “see” that.
Somewhere else said i have to create a misic share. Does this mean i have to move all the music to a new share? I havent finished putting on all the music yet.
Thanks for any help
P.S. think someone may have showed me somthing similar but have lost the file/s
