It was available as a Beta release for a short while - fixing some of the issues encountered.
Lately this software has been very stable, with no outstanding operational issues and infrequent releases/updates.
Just updated my RPi2 and all is good.
… hhhmmmm ???
Looks like a problem … on Synology (DSM-7)
It will not open NDX from iPad Naim app or access IP:45537 on Windows
Maybe better to hold the horses …
Too late Mike. I hadn’t updated a fortnight ago and I was offered the new one this morning and did the update. Can start the process and it says it is running and then says it is manually stopped in Synology Package Centre. No error messages in the logs. I am on DSM-7 too,
OK … I’ve posted a ‘HELP’ request on dBp form, hopefully Spoon or PeterP are on it PDQ
Let’s hope so!
Both Spoon & Peter are on the case
I am having difficulty accessing the forum to post but have been seeing the responses. I have a DS213j on DSM 7.1.1
I’ve been running numbers of 2025 and 2026 Asset releases on DSM-7.1.1 42962 Update-9 without any problems. It has been the current 7.1.1 release since 2025-08-05.
I am pretty sure mine is the same version of DSM
And there is a new Beta to address these issues
“Restored x86 32-bit binary in QNAP/Synology packages.”
Sorry to say the new beta has not fixed my problem, I still working with PeterP
This one does install on my DS214play but won’t run.
Its the same for me
Synology .spk has ialways nstalled OK but since 2026-07-29 it will install but not open on the Naim app.
(by run = the Naim app opens OK and changes around its inputs such as iRadio, but will not open the NAS).
Tried that and nothing loaded correctly. It’s a huge stuff up.,I have reverted to media Server
Me too using Syn Media Server, but really want the Asset so am still working with them. I will post when it gets fixed.
Thanks for your efforts on this, Mike. I’m just glad I didn’t change to the latest version.
‘mornin HH, I’m just so sorry I posted that the rev was available before first testing, as I normally do.
…. Guilty as charged ….
But this is the first time I’ve experience a failure like this with the Illustrate (dBp) guys.
It seems the problem is the need to overcome a Synology software revision limit at 7.1.1 with the old CPU.
I might treat myself to a new one …..
We have a DS224+. It’s a few years old now but maybe it would be ok.
You’re safe with a 2024 model.
The DSM 7.1.1 software limit applies to various models released up to 2013 ‘14 & ‘15.
Synology capped the software upgrades for specific hardware generations that cannot progress past DSM 7.1. It’s a hardware ability limit, not an arbitrary expiration date.
