Just wanted to post on this. Wore out my 9xi (in two years!) and based on James Henriot’s suggestion (Whest) I had it retipped with a Paratrace by Expert Stylus. Just wanted to say, it is better in every regard - quite special in fact. In particular - the instruments simply sound more real. Dynamics are superb.
Totally agreed, James is fantastic. In fact he coordinated this work for me, much appreciated. I have learned a ton from him. My Whest phono preamp is up there with my very best components.
