Best duets

Now this list includes three of my favourite songs (not difficult to discern). But are some missing?

Damien Rice and Lisa Hannigan, any song with them together.

I’d have to go with Lisa Hannigan and Loah. The harmonies brings tears every time.

Jaki Graham & David Grant cover of Todd Rundgrens Mated.

Proper Pop. A lot better than the original.

Charlotte Gainsbourg & Jarvis Cocker.

Amy and Willy.

The Golden State by The Delines from The Lost Duets single.

A few I really like:
Paradise by the Dashboard Light for that epic back and forth between Meatloaf and Ellen Foley
The alt version of Greg Porter’s Water Under Bridges where he sings with Laura Mvula
Kurt Elling & Sara Gazarek VocĂȘ JĂĄ Foi Ă  Bahia (on Passion World)

No objection to Gabriel and Bush as No 1 - epic performance that one.

I am not sure I would say any of them are the best duets, just the journo’s faves. Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra’s duets would be included in my faves list, I would include several that are not on the list, but no others in my faves are in this list.

Mary Black and Seamus Begley singing Bruach Na Carraige BĂĄine

A missing one better than many on that list: Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Cabalé’s Barcelona.

And I don’t know if this counts: Ian Gillan’s duet with Richie Blackmore’s guitar when Deep Purple performed Strange kind of woman live. (cf the DP album Made in Japan)

Johnny Mathis and Denise Williams

Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb

Babs Streisand and Michael Crawford - Music of the Night (from Phantom)
which benefits from being generous with the volume slider/button.

I think my best “Duet” isn’t strictly speaking a duet at all. My ears and mind tell me though this is a duet. Between surviving brothers (at the time) and a deceased brother. I defy anyone not to have tears rolling down your face when listening and watching this.
