Best internet radio anyone?

Naim stations are available in flac (for those that can play them).
There is a long list of good jazz stations earlier in the thread.
see Best internet radio anyone? - Streaming Audio - Naim Audio - Community

Another nice Jazz/Latin station
ALR Jazz Radio - Abaco Libros Y Cafe Radio (Cartagena, Colombia)

It OK on Airable (search ALR).
A user @Pierre3 reported an issue on vTuner (search alr) but SteveSky is on the case so should be sorted.

It is a very nice station

How did you get on with the list of other jazz stations?
Which ones did you like?

Tried a number of others. But invariably go back to Jazz24.

What we like about it is, it plays the type of Jazz we like, we’re not keen on modern, freestyle jazz and it doesn’t play much of that. Also, there are not adverts with little DJ interjections, so basically 59 minutes of Jazz per hour.

Hello Steve,
It’s strange! The other stations that you had reactivated work very well (Classic Jazz, Jazz Vocal and Jazz Legends). Except ALR Jazz Radio - Abaco Libros Y Cafe Radio (Cartagena, Colombia). This station still works on my Cambridge Audio streamer but not at all on my Naim Muso for 2 weeks.
Best regards
Pierre

Are you ready?
Radio Santa Claus (Finland)

URL https://streaming.radiostreamlive.com/radiosantaclaus_devices
It’s on vTuner and Airable.

Did you get it fixed?

Maybe @Stevesky can help.

@MikeD Did you find any helpful classical stations from my list?

Hi @MikeD

Hidef section - we have most of them. Since our last update a few extra ones from Brazil have arrived, but in reality due to the financial pressures on radio stations we’re finding more are closing down than arriving.

Hello everyone. I recall asking this uestion before, but am struggling to find the reply I had! Anyway, here goes again…

I see reference to 60 North Radio which I like the sound of. So, I have my app open (for my 1st generation MuSo), and press “iRadio”. It then gives me a screen titled “Naim’s Choice” under which 60 North Radio is not listed.

But, I can’t find a way of doing a “normal” search (ie not just “Naim’s Choice”).

Might someone be able to tell me how to look for stations beyond “Naim’s Choice”?

Thank you!

Mike

Not sure if it is working on vTuner @Stevesky

@Victorthesecond URL is https://cdn1.zetcast.net/stream
if you can add it manually.

They play ‘Fip’ a lot in my local pub in trendy Kemptown (Brighton). Quality varies a lot, depending on the time of day, but sometimes it’s very good.

The pub chooses to play it so that there’s not a lot of (comprehensible) background chatter. (It’s also quirky and alternative, which is in keeping with ‘boho’ Kemptown.

Picked up on that Czech one. Thanks chap.

Good call, thank you!

I’ve found it (after a lot of digging) on the MuSo app.

On a different note, I wondered if you’d been able to a Google Home to play it?

I’m a big fan of FiP. As I’ve mentioned on this forum before, I have no idea what that rather sexy French lady is saying when she whispers to me, but I’m sure it’s wonderful…

I find it’s best in the evenings after 8ish although I do enjoy it most of the time . I actually subscribe to club jazz a FIP on podcast which can be a good listen too .

Hi @Victorthesecond

60 North Radio is now working again on VTuner. See:

Hi all,

Ref: 60 North Radio

The owner of the station contacted us with a few points. He was trying to post but it was getting rejected due to the forum policy.

Anyway, 60 North Radio now have an experimental lossless flac stream. I’ve added it to the hidef section of internet radio. 48kHz, 16bit.

Have fun

Just a quick note re 60 North Radio…

I’ve been in touch with them as I wondered if there was an option to cast to a Google device (akin to Radio Paradise, and handy for me if I’m in my workshop). Sadly they don’t have that option at the moment. However, he did share some more detail with me that forum readers may find useful.

In addition to the comment that Steve Harris has kindly added…I quote from the radio station owner:

Our primary streams are these:

So here are our current streams (all available in either http or https) - port 80, 443 and 8000 are available.

http://cdn1.zetcast.net/stream - 320k MP3

http://cdn1.zetcast.net/stream3 - 256k AAC

http://cdn1.zetcast.net/stream6 - 56k AAC

I hope that is useful.

I know, these stations cost money to operate. But, am I alone in getting a bit tired of being reminded that “…we really appreciate your support…” from Radio Paradise?

It must be Christmas soon!
