Wanting to listen to CKUA.com from Alberta Canada.
According to web site, :listen.streamon.fm/ckua
This just buffers and won’t play. Any ideas please.
Many thanks
They are adding some magic as they call it themselves. DSP I guess. It’s clear when you compare to the original recording. It often sounds good though but not as the original was made if that’s important. The bass can become bit to bloated sometimes for example.
Listen to “abc lounge radio”. I like it.
Thank you for the information. I didn’t know that. If jazz groove uses DSP, then it’s a positive DSP /sound tuning. Unfortunately, I don’t understand anything about studio technology (DSP, dither, etc.). But many older recordings in particular seem to me to be more detailed and better resolved than the corresponding recordings on Qobuz The sound stage also seems broader and more detailed to me.
Same experience here I stream Jazz Groove FLAC many hours per day. It’s very good and sounds great and I find many new artists/albums. Connecting it to Roon give you the option to click a streamed track in JG and it shows up in Roon
What equipment are you listening on?
Setting up your profile helps us.
URL listen.streamon.fm/ckua plays OK in a browser - note no : at start
@Stevesky may help
Re: CKUA
On our new radio system this station plays ok. It also has extended meta.
I checked the legacy vtuner fees and that also plays.
If you can give more detail on equipment in use + sw version installed then can advise accordingly.
Best
Steve
Thank you and @Stevesky for your replies.
Using a Auralic Vega S1 + PS as streamer/dac into a Nac 32CB and Nap 250 or SPL elector pre and SPL performer s800. Yes I can play at 96 from Auralic radio. Trying to get 128 or 320, which is available, but can’t find proper url. Thank you.
Hi @Eduard
I’ve contacted their engineering team for advice on available streams. If they have better then we’ll add it to the new Naim radio solution.
Best
