Only just realised I can connect my Sony wireless headphones to my Samsung smart TV.
After Iphone and Ipad a quality increase is considerable.

There are different Bluetooth protocols including dedicate Bluetooth Audio.
When two devices pair they negotiate the highest mutually supported version.
And yes there is a massive difference in audio quality between older protocols and newer especially on quiet passages where older protocols would simply drop the stream below a certain (and very noticeable) level.
