Watched this last night and found it rather disappointing. Muddled chronology, too much mention of Tin Machine, some later albums not mentioned at all and not nearly enough time on the Blackstar album itself. Or did I miss something?
Did I see that following this on Channel 4 they showed the Brett Morgen ‘film’
Moonage Daydream.
Surely you can never have too much of Tin Machine.
Yes, they did.
Due to my age and musical tastes at the time, Tin Machine were my entry point to Bowie’s catalogue, so I don’t have the issue with TM that many people do; I have and still play both albums, on CD. But this documentary needed far less, IMHO.
Err does Channel 4 answer a your comments, always weak IMO

Rather disappointing documentary, wished I hadn’t stayed up as learnt very little. They also kept going back in time and revisiting earlier works so missed out most of his late period albums.
I would have much preferred to have watched the The Brett Morgen ‘film’ Daydream that followed.
And I was even disappointed by that movie, which I saw in a movie theater as it came out. A lot of talking and only a little bit of music.
