A new anthology of this largely overlooked band from the late 70’s has just been released by Cherry Red.
I was fortunate to see them live twice back in the day and they were just brilliant.
Bruce Woolley co-wrote Video Killed The Radio Star and actually released his version before The Buggles made it a Global hit.
The keyboard player in The Camera Club was no less than Thomas Dolby.
Terrific pop/rock power/pop tunes with style!

Thanks for the heads-up on this. Kid Jensen used to play them a bit on Radio 1 iirc. Despite being a big metal and prog fan, I remember liking them a lot at the time.
That’s right Kid Jensen was a huge fan and did indeed play them. One of the greatest bands not to make it, although their band members mostly went on to achieve things outside of The Camera Club.
The guitarist, David Birch went on to be successful in South Africa with his rock band “Squeal”. His brother Rob Birch (although not in Camera Club) formed and is still the front man of Stereo MC’s.
Bruce Woolley wrote many, many big hit songs including for Grace Jones amongst others.
Thomas Dolby scored a number of hit singles and his albums are seemingly much loved (rightly IMHO) by many Naim owners.
A terrific band which to my ears still sound exciting.
