Hi @LindsayM, my partner Caroline is having the same issues. Obviously a BT email outage.
Thanks Steve, I’ll leave well alone then until they fix it.
Yes same with my BT Mail.
Seems to be a regular occurrence these days, not a complete outage, but some glitch or other at sometime during the week.
Thanks guys.
Looks like they’ve updated the email web UI…… and we all know how well that goes .

Why do we just accept it when we are told “oh the server is down” we pay these people for a service which they are not giving. Therefore every time they are not providing the service we pay for we should receive a refund and compensation. Do something useful OFCOM and they might get their act together.
I saw that BT are recommending to turn off wifi and use mobile data to access your email. It worked for me.
That doesn’t make any difference it’s their server that’s down how you get there doesn’t matter.
But I must say I’ve just got a list of mails in my inbox
Yet it works, or coincidentally it came back up as I tried it.
Has this issue affected EE customers?
Just got fixed now coincidence.
Except I tried it when I was still failing to connect over wifi and succeeded when I turned wifi off on the phone.
I’m not sure what different routing from the mobile network as opposed to the fixed network might take one to different servers, but it seemed to work.
ETA It seems that the servers were up, but the BT fixed network DNS did not have an entry for email.bt.com, so switching to your mobile provider got you to a different DNS farm and you had routing. Other people fixed it by changing to other public DNS farms.
None of it worked since 5 this morning
I was even on the BT site and when I selected mail I got the no server found.
Same result both wi fi and mobile data but it all came back on at the same time.
Wonder why mobile didn’t work for you. It did for many people, and it wasn’t the servers, it was the DNS entry. That will cause the “no server found” error no matter where you click if you’re using that DNS.
Oh well sorted now
Yes I changed to mobile and pinged the app but only got the spinner.
I didn’t try accessing the bt site by mobile though.
But my devices still wouldnt be working.
See how easy it is to cripple the world now.
Thanks but i’m not (yet) an EE customer so can’t use that, but just wondering if this problem also includes the EE network which is part of BT due to merger.
