I have always dreamed of a high quality audio system. Now that I could afford it I did some research and I tried my best not to fail as a second try was not an option for my wallet. First I got the Atom. My wife cannot belive I paid that much for it. I fell asleep on the carpet listening to it on some Samsung earphones night after night… until they arrived. The Buchardt S400 Mk2.
I choose them for the musicality.
I am not a guru but I can recognise a good sound. This is amazing. I have never heard anything like this. You know when you hear them, you will know ! That this is how music should sound like. I listen at max 70 volume equals 70db. Medium room. I do not feel the need for more power. They do not give you any fatigue. The sound is pleasant and warm but very true to live concert. They have good sound stage. One of my frieds was looking for the central speaker. The base is very subtle and stays in the back and comes out exactly when needed. Try some hip hop and you will feel it punching in your chest, fast and crisp. What can I tell you? I checked a box in my bucket list…
Although I’ve never heard (or even heard of) those speakers, isn’t it terrific when you’re happy with the sound and enjoy rediscovering your favourite music?

Those are nicely balanced well engineered speakers…with a nice wide uniform dispersion thanks to the nice tweeter… you need them on really good quality stands…Solid Steel range are really good…and will allow the speaker to deliver even more. Make sure you use some decent speaker cable… enjoy!!! By the way they will probably need around 200 hours run in… they will get better and better…
I have these too (on Solid Steel!). I agree, very natural sound with no exaggerations needed to impress. You can’t audition but returns are simple. I can’t imagine there are many.
I’m also really happy with them.
I’ve been interested in these for a while, and might consider them to accompany our Nova as it transitions to a second system.
