On the only basis : myself. I am considered as the God in audio in my country. Nobody discusses my points of view. It’s as simple as that my venerable Innocent Bystander
My 2p. My background is medical diagnostics, medical sensor technology, electronics and i know what I’m talking about.
We bought a ND5xs2 earlier this year, fired up, left it running on internet radio for a while, then we were away for a couple of months whilst still running.
Came back. Daughter, Son and wife all commented unprovoked, how it had improved over that time.
I don’t care why, but the unchanged / untouched product, albeit just left doing its job was a significant order of magnitude better than when first switched on out of the box.

Don’t count on it. The rooster and the fish are starting a ding dong on the new year resolutions thread
Do you have Swedish bloodlines?
My name is Doctor Audio , the Venerable. We are 2 in Europe, the other one is Swedish
Yeah,.just a few .

No, 1 clearly is well aware of the situation, calm and collected. What he knows is a matter of conjecture, but as just one of many possible examples may be that all the apparent saws are cardboard cutouts positioned around the branches to look as if they are saws sawing.
Now it might be possible to come to some reasoned conclusion, as Beachcomer did, had you given a full account, for example that it is a drawing of a tree with the pictured branches several tens of feet above hard ground with nothing to break or cushion anyone’s fall, that there is nothing hidden that will stop them falling in the event of a branch being sawn through, that all three people pictured with saws are actively sawing through the branches and will not stop until the branch is cut through or breaks through, and they all have at least reasonable eyesight.
Just shows that not all you find on the net is necessarily clear, definitive or correct!
But what would have been your response?
The response for this brain teaser is Nr 1. They say he stays calm , see what’s happening but is unaware of the danger coming. They say he is the most stupid of the 4. I find it clear personally.
My response would be the same. But I agree that other interpretations can be given. All of them are of course stupid also.
I don’t feel we have to take into consideration what can be hidden on the picture.
Nr 3 will not fall, so apparently not the most stupid. Nr 4 looks depressed, so probably suicidal.
Nr 2 is probably bad and stupid too. But the most stupid is Nr 1. He doesn’t look depressed, so not suicidal. He doesn’t panic too or try to escape.
Nothing is going to fall anywhere unless I drop my mobile device. It’s a flat, 2-dimensional cartoon on a website.
And it’s still turtles all the way down.
Apparently.
Another case of something being a fact because a lot of people say it is that?
Would No. 4 become a fact if the majority that you read said it was him because he is cutting the branch he himself is sitting on?
Or would you agree if the majority that you read said it was No. 3 because he will be the one prosecuted for murder as the only one unscathed, seen up the tree with a saw in his hand and the two branches either side of him sawn off, with the dead bodies below still straddling the branches they had been sitting on?
I’m not trying to argue one or another, just pointing out that because a lot of people may believe something doesn’t necessarily make it a fact, just as with cable burn-in.
But to look at this another way, at first glance No. 4 being the most stupid is is the most obvious answer, being the one cutting his own branch: that is akin to believing burn-in of cables, but as the answer you presented points out, there is a psychological explanation that makes it evident he is not stupid, so the wrong answer.
The answer to Rooster’s puzzle is the one that one discerns for oneself. And the point is well made.
Number 1 is the least stupid.
All the others were stupid enough to climb a tree without ladders or safety equipment, while holding a large saw.
I have done my point of view, you asked me. You never give up man !
I was merely pointing out how your own choice of example is a very apt one for the subject of cable burn-in!
Burning in of equipment with capacitors and components settling is one thing, burning in of cables though is another, IMO pushing the boundaries of credibility.
Hammer Nail Head
It is if it supports your point of view or argument, isn’t it? If it doesn’t then, of course, it’s rubbish.
The OP asked if it was okay to leave everything running over Xmas. Xmas is over now - now that’s a fact
The fact is that the question was answered a long time ago. So perhaps @BertBird should ask to close this thread…
Yes the thread can be closed - my stuff has passed the 200 hours mark now and sounding great…
