I have a ‘Demonstration’ Chord C-Stream that has a different plug to the standard sealed unit. I notice some advertising pics also show this plug. What would be the reason for this change I wonder?
It also has a definitely hand scribbled black dot painted in.

The one in your picture looks narrower than the ‘stnd’ C.Stream RJ45 in this pic. .
The old stnd ones are so wide its not possible to have them fitting next to each other in some switch RJ45 port configs. Maybe a design change to overcome this problem
