Sure, it may well be ok, and it’s of course relative, still arguably the mains cable to the wall is your most important mains cable in the system. I use a decent 6mm2 cable to the wall and it’s still less than the 8mm2 my SOtM block is wired with internally.
Without doubt the mains cable to the wall is the most important cable in the system. I’m not sure what gauge cable is used inside the Chord block but I would say that arguably the cable construction regarding conductor configuration, insulation type etc. etc. has a huge bearing on performance. I’m not convinced that vastly over-specified conductor size is necessarily a good thing. Of course it all depends on the particular block and cable configurations in question. I think there are few universal truths here.
