If only we had some contraption available to create more visibility in dark surroundings!
Cable ties!!?
Come now, good sirâŚ
Cables work much better when theyâre in the dark.
Cable ties? Disqualified!

Dear Sirs, I would like to apply for membership of your most exclusive club/society. I hope the below images meet with your satusfaction.
I think the rakish angle on that Samsung thingy certainly conveys membership!
YepâŚyouâre in. Total lack of order and effort.perfect.
Too embarrassed Richard?
Testing a Tunami GPX V2 from OYAIDE (the red one on the CDX2), still waiting for 2 more VDH to come.
The twisted ethernet is for digital convolutionâŚ
Well⌠In this thread chaos is king!
Too clean. Too much space. Too much air. You feel the cables breathing away from the interferences.
The spiders wouldnât like it. Theyâre camera shy.
soon I will amaze youâŚ
This is a good thread as it makes me feel much better about my own ratâs nest . However, it does raise the question of where EMI stands in all of this. Legend has it (or is that cable manufacturers) that EMI is the work of the Devil and will wreak havoc on any system afflicted by it, which most of the pictured systems must be because of the spaces into which cables are crammed. Legend goes on to say that cables must be kept separate and elevated to ensure a non-detrimental performance. Yet Iâm not reading of systems plagued by harshness, distortion, channel imbalance etc. Does this mean claims regarding EMI effects are (ahem) grossly exaggerated?
EMI adds life and character to your music, just like a needle on a vinyl record does. You need to cherish and embrace them, theyâre one of the few things that keep us human in this soulless digital age.
Well, I feel better now. A combined AV and hifi system is even more of a problem for cables. Looks ok from the front I feel (if you forgive the fact that the ND5XS, XP5XS and NDAC are stacked) but less so when you look round the back. Anyway, those are what I call powerstrips!
One audiophileâs grossly exaggerated (night and day) is another audiophileâs modest understatement (couldnât hear the difference).
Meanwhile, hereâs just a small taste of my spaghetti of shame:
I want extra points for the crossing signal and power cables.
