Cannot see Uniti Atom on Macbook Output Devices any longer

I used to be able to play sounds from my MacBook on my Atom, but now it seems the option to choose Naim (either from the volume control or from the Apple Music app volume control) has gone.

The Atom is working and connected to the wifi. I can plan Spotify on it, controlling it from the Spotify app on my MacBook.

I recently updated the firmware on the Atom (due to other issues). Could that be the cause?

How can I determine the exact issue, and / or fix it?

The first thing I would do is reboot my Mac and also the Atom.

  1. Simply restart the Mac.
  2. Unplug the Atom, leave for a few minutes, then plug it back in again.
I’ve found that works on the rare occasions mine misbehaves.

Hi Cammil. I don’t think updates are your problem. Airplay works for me with MacBook Air and Atom, provided the Atom is using the same Wi-Fi as the laptop. However, if I plug in an Ethernet lead, the Atom is no longer available.

Roger

Thanks for the suggestions. I just checked and Atom is back on my Mac. Must have be an intermittent thing.
